We Already Miss You Uncle Dave and Aunt Becca!

We just got back from a visit with Dave and Becca in Louisville. We left Thursday night and arrived in Louisville at about 2:00am Friday morning. In theory the boys should have slept the whole way and transferred, unbeknownst to them, into their beds only to find themselves in Louisville when they woke up. In reality, Brooks woke up about thirty minutes outside of Louisville and when we arrived was met at the car by the long, not-so-lost Uncle Dave. You should have seen the look on Brooks' face when he saw Dave, It was honestly the saddest thing I think I have ever seen. He had this " I can't believe you have been here all along while I was in Knoxville missing you, You've betrayed me" sort of look on his face. Half-way between a pout and a cry. It was adorably sad. We woke up to an awesome box of toys and fun. We started with dinosaurs and Mr. Potato head, worked our way into basketball and crayons, then were awed (adults and children alike) by the capsule sponge dinosaurs that grow in warm water. We had lunch at Mark's Feed Store then checked out the shadiest joint in town that is "suppose" to be for kids...and adults, and child molesters who want to go to a bar and drink and scope out the kids playing on the blow up slides next to the bar. WHAT? After that place bombed out we decided to go back to the apt and take naps until Aunt Becca got home, which seemed to take forever. We all went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. The next morning we had breakfast at the craziest place I've ever seen called Lynn's Paradise Cafe. They had the neatest novelty gift shop. Just look at the outside of this place. Anyone who has heard me talk about Rachael Ray's bacon band-aids, they have them here as well as eggs and t-bone band-aids. One of Uncle Dave's favorite items is the notepad of cell phone violations. For example you could check a box by one of many violations such as "talking too loudly" then at the bottom check a suggestion box by "consider others." Absolutely ridiculous. After breakfast we went to the zoo! Easily one of Brooks' favorites. He now equates Aunt Becca and Uncle Dave with the zoo. Don't be fooled by the sunglasses it was none too warm at the old Louisville zoo. However, to our pleasant surprise almost all of the animals were out and visible. We spent some time at the playground in the zoo where it seem Moses was having no trouble staying warm. Before we left, Brooks rode the carousel. I've never laughed so hard in my life. You would have thought he was in the Brooks Burnette Day parade the way he was waving. If you were wondering that is no one we know he is waving at in the picture. He waved at EVERYONE. We left the zoo and after many complications finally decided on Ramsi's Cafe on the World for lunch. Drew and I ordered the best salsa I've ever had as an appetizer and split the fish taco's. They were amazing. Dave and Becca got some sort of grilled beef pita with the yummiest potatoes ever. As a matter of fact, they were so good Drew ordered them for dessert. We ate so much for lunch that we surpassed dinner for an early evening trip to the Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen where we each got our own slice of heaven. What a delicious way to end our tour de foods de Louisville. Thank you Aunt Becca and Uncle Dave for a great time in Louisville!
